Curious about rental properties and pets? Have you ever wondered if it is legal for tenants to pay a pet fee for a service animal in their rental unit? Or, what do landlords have to consider when a tenant makes a reasonable accommodation request for their disability? Join the Los Angeles Housing Department as we host two organizations this month to discuss pets in rental units in the City of Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Department of Animal Services has information on some of the benefits and resources available to pet owning tenants, landlords, and those interested in bringing a furry friend home. The Housing Rights Center will discuss federal and state fair housing laws, emphasizing learning more about disability accommodations for service and support animals. The webinar will also include information regarding the City’s new ordinance, which provides eviction protection to tenants who brought pets into their units due to COVID-19.
The session will be held online via Zoom.

This RFP seeks to solicit proposals from experienced individuals to conduct over 15 types of hearings on behalf of the General Manager of LAHD in response to appeals
This RFP seeks to solicit proposals from experienced individuals to conduct over 15 types of hearings on behalf of the General Manager of LAHD in response to appeals filed with the City by constituents or by direction of the Rent Adjustment Commission under the RSO (LAMC, Chapter XV) and Los Angeles Housing Code (LAMC, Chapter XVI), motion rulings, etc. Such hearings include, but are not limited to, the following programs: Code Enforcement, Rent Escrow Account Program, Utility Maintenance Program, Release of Escrow, Urgent Repair Program, Relocation Assistance, Tenant Habitability Program, Primary Renovation, Capital Improvement, Just and Reasonable, Luxury Exemption, and Income-Based Relocation. Hearings will be conducted Monday through Friday during LAHD’s business hours.
The deadline for proposal submissions is Monday, March 25, 2024 by 5:00 p.m. PDT. Proposals must be submitted electronically to lahd.contractsprocurement@lacity.org.
